Most of the Dogs currently training at the Centre have been here for a considerable length of time. Their Owners are committed to spending quality time with their Dogs and are rewarded by the effort and commitment they put into training by having well behaved Pets that are a pleasure to own.
All new Owners with adult Dogs will be asked to have an initial assessment/training lesson in order that they are happy with the methods used and any training problems they may have can be addressed. If necessary, all basic obedience can be taught prior to them being offered a place in one of the established groups if their Dog is of a suitable temperament and training level and if a space is available. (Please note:- Very occasionally a Dog will find a group situation too stressful. If this type of training environment proves to be counter productive then an alternative approach will be offered)
Individual lessons can be continued for any period of time to suit the Owners requirements, and are ideal if Owners do not want to commit to weekly training. If offered a place in a group however, a registration fee (which includes full insurance) is payable followed by a weekly training fee. This is to ensure that any new Dogs joining the groups have the commitment of their Owners for long term training which is essential for maintaining a harmonious and enjoyable relationship.
All training groups now incorporate agility as part of the training session, but as the emphasis is on control, this is taught in conjunction with obedience and is not taught separately.
Puppies have their own socialising sessions on a weekly basis.
Ringcraft training is also held for those wishing to show their Dogs. Please contact Sue for further details.
